Recreational Skipper - Health Declaration
A health declaration required when applying for the recreational skipper certificate (fritidsskippersertifikat) — the certificate that entitles you to operate recreational boats with a hull length of up to 24 meters. We carry out the examination and issue the health declaration.
Health Requirements
The health requirements are set by the Norwegian Maritime Authority. The most important are:
- Vision: at least 0.5 with both eyes examined together (glasses or contact lenses are allowed)
- Normal color vision (Ishihara test or equivalent)
- Hearing: able to hear normal speech at a distance of 4 meters, with or without a hearing aid
- No illness or health condition that increases the safety risk on board

Accepted ID
You must bring valid identification to the examination. The following ID is accepted:
- Passport
- National ID card
- Physical driver's license (not digital version)
- Bank card with photo
Self-Declaration
The self-declaration form can be filled out at our clinic or in advance.
